During the first lockdown many organisations were faced with the 'work from home' instruction from our leaders. Some organisations could not cope with this and some were never suited to it. But it did make me consider how we became so reliant on a economy where shopping was so important. In fact as a child of the 1970's this is an alien concept for me by somehow I've become accustomed to this way of life.
When did a more simplistic way of life and a local economy stop being important?
Working from home has significant benefits and can be a great experience.. After feedback from our clients it has been clear that in every case this has been a positive experience and in fact so much so that the projects we have seen during the Covid-19 pandemic appear likely not to be reversed.
It remains to be seen for the long term impact but with our business working remotely this has been a fact of life for some years. We have been able to adapt very easily as others have too - this is a better connection to your home, spending more time with family and considering local issues. It must be good for our environment, in fact for the first time in nearly 50 years earth day (the day in which we expend our natural resources) was pushed back by three months in 2020 - there is hope.
